world wide web

Here are a few link to websites and such that we feel are secretly important.

threadless.com- submit your own designs or slogans for t-shirts.  Awesome designs that have been voted on by other users, I highly urge you to try it out.  You could even earn a little money.

mollybartends- there are a lot of blogs out there (a lot) it can be difficult to wade through them all and try and decide what is worth your time.  This one is totally worth it.  A simple premise. Molly Prather who is a talented writer performer in Hollywood writes beautiful little gems about her time as a bartender in both New York and Los Angeles.

k-records- i’ve talked about number bands on this website, many if not most of them are currently with K (LAKE, the curious mystery, karl blau, chain and the gang, Mirah etc.)  Give them a look through I can almost guaranty that you’ll find something worth your while.

kill rock stars- most of the bands I’ve talked about on the website that are not with K are probably with Kill Rock Stars (Thao & Mirah, the get down stay down, horse feathers etc.)  Like K if you browse around for a while I’m sure you’ll find something that strikes your fancy.

toms shoes- considering I launched the website with a contest to win a pair of toms shoes I think it’s pretty obvious that around here we really like Toms.  These are not just great shoes but they are also a great cause, their one for one policy is what puts them over the edge from being a great shoe to the best shoe.

this american life- frankly, if you told me that you’d never heard of the public radio show This American Life, I would wonder why you’d traveled this far into the depths of this website.  They are without a doubt one of my biggest influences.

radiolab- i don’t blame you if you haven’t heard of this public radio show, but now that I’ve told you about it I will blame you if you don’t check them out right away.  Very similar to This American Life only with science, their episodes are not just mind blowing, they are an exquisite soundscape.

scratchframe- Our contributor ericstolze is a director on this website who’s primary focus has been Craigslist theater, a series of short films based on actual craigslist ads.  Funny, intelligent, brilliant, a must see.

starving the arts- Having graduated from an art school, I look back on that choice often and wonder if it was all worth it.  Our contributor janewhitty writes this blog and it’s core questions always force me to ask myself that question again.

We’ll be adding more links we like as time goes on so keep checking back to find out other places you should be spending your time.
